Module is nothing but list of functionalities based on business process, for example – sales module is used by a sales manager and it will include all the functionality associated with selling goods.

Let us take example of a Trading company name ABC

ABC will need to purchase goods for selling hence there is need for Purchase Module.

Purchase Module – It will have functionality to create Quote, Order and Purchase Return (purchase invoice might be available in this module or finance or both).

ABC needs to manage the goods purchased, store in specific location, identify and count time from time to time, it needs Inventory Module.

Inventory Module – It will have functionality like Goods Receipt Note, Inventory Transfer, Stock counting, Stock Adjustment, Purchase Receipt and Sales Delivery.

Now ABC must sell the goods to run the organization, it needs Sales Module.

Sales Module – It will have functionality like Sales Inquiry, Sales Quote, Sales Order and Sales Return (sales invoice might be available in this module or finance or both).

ABC needs to receive money for customer and manage its day-to-day cash requirement, so, the Finance Module is required.

Finance Module – It will have functionality to invoice customer and vendor, receive the money and pay to supplier and journal entry for transaction.

The above-mentioned are basic modules available in any standard module, there are many other modules that organizations can purchase based on requirement.

HR & Payroll – to manage the human capital and process the payroll with WPS as per UAE labor law. Manufacturing, contracting based on the industry and line of operation. Even there can be add-on module available to complement the Trade cycle (Purchase, Sales and Inventory) like before Sales Enquiry is created the organization needs CRM (Customer Relationship Management) to manage the interactions.

To Manage Inventory – PDA/ Hand Held devices can be used and inventory is tracked with bar-code printed on it.
